BANGOR – The Maine Forest Products Council recognized Mark Vannah of Waldoboro with the Doug Denico Outstanding Forester Award at a ceremony on Monday, September 18. The award, named in honor of former board president Doug Denico, is given annually to an individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to directly apply forest management practices in a “working forest” environment on either private or public lands.
A forester with Robbins Lumber Company since 1999 who has been procuring logs for four mills since 2015, Vannah has proved himself as an exceptional professional forester with an excellent reputation among landowners, loggers and truckers. He has also demonstrated a dedication to educating the public about forest management.
